Education Day! Let’s celebrate teachers!

Tra i nostri doppio diplomini abbiamo molti aspiranti giornalisti. Tanti, sono ragazzi che si sono rivelati da subito portati per la scrittura. Tra le nostre fila però, c’è anche qualcuno che ha scoperto la propria passione grazie al supporto dei teacher della scuola americana. Perchè ve lo raccontiamo oggi? Perchè oggi si celebra la Giornata Internazionale per l’Educazione e ci sembra la giornata giusta per parlare dell’importanza dell’insegnamento.

Giulia ha condiviso con noi l’intervista che ha fatto a una delle sue teacher, Lia, e siamo molto fieri di quello che ha scritto.

Le parole di Giulia:

We have all encounter at least one teacher in our lives. This is a profession that most of the time is underestimated both by us and by those in power. They frequently do not provide enough materials and resources to carry out this magnificent job. I even talked about this perspective during the magnificent interview with Lia Seirotti, a teacher since 2010 but who has been working with The Dual Diploma since 2015.

Graduated from FIU, with a degree in elementary education, she is now studying at Florida State University to enlarge her knowledge as a teacher and always be ready to be the best possible teacher for her students.

She had been my teacher during my first year and I couldn’t be more grateful for what she taught me and for the impact that she had on my life.

One of the questions I asked her during the interview was when she realized that it was the right job for her. She replied very easily that she understood it on her first day as a teacher and in that moment, she understood that she had found her place in the world.

During our chat, we also talked about the features that a good teacher should have. We come up with patience, a grand desire to work, and a lot of motivation. We all know that people who become teachers do not have the goal in life to become rich, so you must keep in mind that you are going to have modest life, but if it is what you really want to do, is going to fulfill you.

Lia lives in Florida, in the US, she is married, and she could not love more what she is doing and her students. Anyone who had or has her as their teacher will tell how happy her lessons are and what a great teacher she is.

La Giornata Internazionale dell’educazione:

L’Assemblea generale delle Nazioni Unite, nel 2018, ha proclamato il 24 gennaio Giornata Internazionale dell’Educazione. Al Doppio Diploma conosciamo bene il ruolo primario che l’istruzione ricopre per il benessere della società e per lo sviluppo umano. è dal 2013 che ci impegniamo attivamente per garantire ai doppio diplomini e alle famiglie un percorso di qualità e attento alle esigenze degli studenti. Ciò non sarebbe possibile, se non fosse per il corpo docenti della Mater Academy e delle scuole italiane.

Ci uniamo quindi a Giulia in questa per ringraziare tutti gli insegnanti che ci aiutano ad accendere le scintille dei nostri doppio diplomini. E ringraziamo anche tutti i nostri studenti perchè hanno compreso il valore dell’educazione e ogni giorno ci danno la possibilità di crescere assieme a loro.
